K.J.Bhisma

Krishna Jageshwar Bhishma was a devotee and poet who loved singing Baba's praises. With Baba's blessing he collected and arranged the aratis, prayers and songs sung in Baba's presence and published them as the book Shri Sainath Sagunopasana.

This book gave a fixed form to the daily worship at Shirdi: the Kakad (morning), Madhyan (noon), Dhoop (evening) and Shej (night) aratis. Many of the aratis still sung at the Samadhi Mandir every day come down to us through his collection.

The Satcharitra mentions Bhishma among the devotees who sang bhajans before Baba. His work means that every devotee who sings the Shirdi aratis today, at home or in a temple anywhere in the world, shares in his service.
