Sree SivanesanSwamiji

Sivanesan Swamiji came from Tamil Nadu and was drawn to Shirdi as a young man. In the 1950s he settled in Shirdi and lived there for the rest of his life, serving Baba quietly for more than four decades.

He lived very simply, spending his days in prayer, service and helping pilgrims. Visitors from South India, who often could not speak Marathi or Hindi, found in him a friend and guide. He encouraged the singing of bhajans and the reading of the Satcharitra, and helped to spread devotion to Baba in Tamil Nadu.

He passed away in Shirdi in 1996. Many devotees remember him as a living example of Baba's teachings of faith and patience.
